About The Trunk
Scholarship
"What a wonderful God we have—he is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the source of every mercy, and the one who so wonderfully comforts and strengthens us in our hardships and trials. And why does he do this? So that when others are troubled, needing our sympathy and encouragement, we can pass on to them this same help and comfort God has given us." -2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Why the Trunk Scholarship
Our Founder, Cathy A. Price, knows what it is like to attend school without having all your supplies and little support. She took on a part-time job, took out loans and received very little Pell Grant to support her through college. She learned how to build a community of friends and extended family that offered support. Now she wants to pay it forward for others.

Cathy shared this vision with her Pastor, Kevin Matthews. He agreed and approved for the program to be with the Shepherd's House.
Our process
Our process is simple. We solicit donations from the business community, local church congregations and individual supporters. We seek to partner with local churches to identify deserving students. We offer this program once a year for freshmen college students.

We search the internet for deals to buy in bulk. Providing our kids with even the smallest of items for our students.
Our Vision
To extend the love of God to our participants through the sharing of our wisdom, supplying of their needs and giving of ourselves for support.
We want our students to focus on succeeding and
not worry.
